Established for the purposes of developing, coordinating, and implementing a coherent and integrated approach to local and community development. The committee is made up of representatives from the local government and local development sectors, public bodies and representatives of social, economic, environmental and community interests.

Lynette Samuels

The Financial Committee Consists of the Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Secretary, and other appointees as necessary. Responsible for projects affecting the organization’s overall financial health.  Its core duties are likely to include participating in the following: 

1. The development of the organization’s budgeting and financial planning.
2. The creation of the organization’s internal controls,.
3. Creating a format for timely, accurate, and user-friendly financial reports.
4. The implementation of safeguards to protect the organization’s assets.
5. Special Projects.

Jade Hill

The committee is tasked with the creation of the business alliance yearly Local and State Legislative Agendas, supports all business alliance policy events and assists in Birmingham and Jefferson County to ensure funding and positioning on issues of importance to the business community as a whole.

Corey Bishop

Established for the purposes of developing, coordinating, and implementing a coherent and integrated and integrated approach to marketing the Five Points-West Business Alliance, it’s initiatives and the businesses within the area in which we serve.

Lynette Samuels

The Membership Committee oversees the yearly Five Points-West Membership Drive. Its primary responsibility is to coordinate the strategy and implementation of the drive, and to develop the materials to support the effort. Our goal is 80 new members in 2020.

Jade Hill

The Member Services Committee is responsible for creating and implementing the process for Onboarding new members and coordinating the programming that meets their needs. This includes but is not limited to:

• Coordination of the monthly meetings held at East of the Mississippi Restaurant
• Coordination of the monthly Happy Hour Events to be held at Starbucks
• Coordination of the Business Continuing Education Units with the Alabama College System to be held at The Birmingham Crossplex
• Coordination of the Doing Business with the City, County, State and Federal Government Series to be held at Starbucks

Tammy Hudson

The Economic Development Committee oversees the yearly Five Points-West Membership Drive. Its primary responsibility is to facilitate the interests and concerns of existing business owners, coordinate the information exchange with developers, The Crossplex facility, the City of Birmingham and for businesses operating in the Crossplex-Five Points West community.
