In addition to the construction of residential access points, the BX will stop at various educational, recreational, medical centers such as Integrated Medical Systems, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Brookwood Princeton Medical Center, and the Birmingham Crossplex. This will create improved accessibility to education and healthcare centers for people as well as deliver an efficient and cost-effective mode of travel for our city’s citizens and visitors. Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) allows for fast-paced travel at a third of the construction cost of alternatives transit methods. After completion, BX will replace BJCTA’s MAX services.
